Why is my dog drinking, peeing, and throwing up a lot suddenly?

My dog started drinking a lot of water 5 days ago and tonight he threw up 5 times and there was food and like mucous in it, what is wrong with my dog? Also urinating a lot

Oreo could be urinating a lot due to the excessive water he has been drinking, and he could be vomiting due to a stomach illness. I can give you a home remedy for him to see if that helps. Withhold food tonight, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away.

    Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with Piper. It sounds like she is sick, and she could have gotten into something rotten, a GI illness, may have a foreign body, or could have pancreatitis. I can give you a home remedy for her to see if that helps. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in her normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, she vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, she will need to see a vet right away. Chronic vomiting, has multiple causes but may cause an electrolyte imbalance which could account for the symptoms you are seeing. If he is drinking more water than usual, he should be seen by your vet for an exam and bloodwork to rule out kidney disease, diabetes or other GI issues. When a pet is vomiting, withhold food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet (1:1 ratio of plain boiled boneless chicken and plain white rice). Feed in small, frequent amounts waiting at least one hour between feedings. If he won't eat, serve the food warm or mix in a teaspoon of baby food to stimulate the appetite. If the vomiting stops, transition slowly to the regular diet. If not or if the appetite does not return, then you will need to see your veterinarian.

Poor Thunder! It could be that he has a GI illness, may have eaten something rotten, could have a foreign body, or may have pancreatitis causing him to vomit. What is concerning me is that he is drinking minimally and not eating on top of the vomiting. I'm willing to give a home remedy for you to try with him to see if that helps as long as he is keeping down water. Withhold food for 12-24 hours, then feed a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the vomiting continues in the absence of food, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. I recommend that your have your dog examined by your veterinarian as soon as possible. Frequent urination can be a symptom of a lower urinary tract infection, cystitis, uroliths (crystals or stones) in the bladder, diabetes, kidney disease, or other metabolic disorders. Vomiting can also be a symptom of an underlying metabolic disorder or a simple GI upset. To control the vomiting until your appointment, withhold all food for the next 12-24 hours. Continue to provide water unless that is being thrown up as well. Then only provide sips of water or ice cubes. After 12-24 hours, reintroduce a bland diet of rice (2/3) and skinless, boiled chicken (1/3). Feed small frequent meals, waiting 1 hour between meals. Slowly transition back to your dog's normal diet over 24 hours.
