My dove was shot in the crop. What emergency care does he need?

a dove was shot thru and thru with a pellet at the crop area of the body I gave him stitches with a disinfected needle and gave him topical antibiotics changed the bandages since it happened what else should I do?

Thanks for reaching out about Bacon. Systemic antibiotics could be helpful. Keep the wound clean. Offer small amounts of food and water, at frequent intervals as to not over-extend the crop. Good luck.
