How to calm a cat scared by an earthquake after recent spay surgery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | RagaMuffin | Female | spayed | 10 months and 17 days old | 20 lbs

My cat just experienced an earthquake and is very shook. I’m not able to calm her down - she was fixed a week ago and is still recovering from that. Is there anything I can do to calm her or make her feel more comfortable?

It's probably best to simply give her space if she seems to be in a place where she feels safe. If she seems very agitated you can try to take her to a smaller, more enclosed area. Feliway sprays and diffusers can help calm an anxious cat as well.
