Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 8.3 lbs
My cat was given flea medication and tapeworm medication. Both are topical. We were told to put on the flea medication on and then wait 2 weeks and put on the topical tapeworm medication. We love our cat but we have had to quarantine her in our guest room for the past few days. Does this mean she will need to be quarantined for the next two weeks? We want to avoid little tapeworm pellets everywhere as they are gross and we have a toddler.Isthere any way to let our cat out? and stop the shedding?

Unfortunately there is no way to stop cats from shedding the tapeworm segments. You don't have to keep her quarantined if you don't want to . I understand the segments are gross and you have a toddler but the segments are not harmful. The only way your toddler would get tapeworms would be from ingesting an infected flea. I would be more worried about getting the fleas under control. So, if Yuki had fleas, they are definitely in your house so you should treat the house for fleas as well.
