Rectal prolapse cannot usually be treated successfully at home. This is often always a surgical problem. The underlying cause of the prolapse has to be addressed. Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.co/cat/condition/rectal-prolapse-1/ Until you can get Princess to the vet you can try using a sugar water paste. Mix regular table sugar with water until it is the consistency of a paste. Apply a small amount to the prolapsed tissue 3 or 4 times per day. She will need to wear a cone collar to prevent her from licking the tissue and the paste.

Oh dear, poor Bossy! I can see the red tissue, but cannot tell from the picture if it appears more consistent with a rectal prolapse, uterine prolapse or ruptured anal glands. Ideally, this situation should be addressed immediately, but if you need to wait until the morning, be sure that Bossy is not licking the prolapsed tissue by putting an e-collar (cone) on her. If you do not have one at home, this link has tips for making one at home: http://dogsaholic.com/care/homemade-dog-cone.html. You can keep the tissue moistened with a water-based lubricant. Take her to the vet as soon as possible in the morning. I hope that all goes well!
