My cat dry heaves but doesn't vomit after new food. What's wrong?

My cat dry heaves for minutes at a day, but does not puke. I have recently changed her food to a higher end brand, but still mix the old food in as well. This was after she kept vomiting the wet food I used to put in. What should I do? Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 5 months old | 2 lbs

Poor girl. It sounds like she may have either a hairball issue here or potentially a sensitive stomach that is getting better now that she is only dry heaving and not vomiting up the wet food. I would consider getting her on a hairball formula first along with continuing to transition her to the new food.
