My rabbit has ringworm. How to stop spread? How long contagious?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Small Animal | Rabbit | Female | unspayed | 6 months and 19 days old | 4 lbs

My rabbit has a localized ringworm lesion on her chin and right side of her mouth. She has started on Lamisil and betadine applied once daily since three days ago. She scratches the lesion often. I'm worried that it may spread. What can I do to prevent it from spreading to other areas ? Please help. How long will it be contagious for?

Hello, how do you know it is ringworm? has your vet tested it? if not then it's likely something else, it would be helpful the see the lesions, try uploading a few pictures in a new question so we can try to help.
