Pet's info: Cat | Maine Coon | Female | spayed | 3 years and 3 months old | 13 lbs
hi there. We have a Maine coon, She’s 3 and 1/2 now and we’ve had her since she was 3 months old. She’s always been very good natured and affectionate. A year ago a friend visited with his baby and the sound of the crying traumatised her so much that now if someone she’s uncertain of comes into the house she sees them as a threat and it sends her into attack mode which is terrifying. With us alone she’s calm and happy. Is there a way to build up confidence again after such a trauma?

A pheromone product, such as Feliway spray or plug in diffuser, may help decrease any anxiety or aggression. You can also use a recording of a baby crying to gradually desensitize Molly. Play it for ever increasing periods of time. Praise and reward her when she reacts ornreapinds appropriately. Correct any negative behavior immediately.
