My puppy ate pie and chips. Should I worry about worms or vet visit?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Labrador Retriever | Female | spayed | 1 month and 28 days old | 8 lbs

I fed my puppy a little piece of apple pie that had all the ingredients that go into it, and a little piece of cape cod chips (I wasn't thinking), she is about to be 2 months old, should I be worried about anything like worms forming or something related to her health? Should I go to a vet to check her? Her vaccinations up to date: Bordetella DA2PCPV Vanguard 5 Plus Drontal Plus PPM Dewormer Bronchiseptica Vaccine Ponazuril dog Advantage Multi (Canine)

Hello. No, please do not worry. It is not true that dogs can get worms from eating anything sweet. She is on an excellent vaccination & worming protocol, so there is nothing that you need to do other than making sure she gets her booster vaccinations when she is 3 months old. The only foods you absolutely should not share with JoJo are grapes, raisins, onions & of course, chocolate. An occasional piece of cookie, chip, pie, lick of ice cream, etc. are all fine.
