Pet's info: Dog | Beagle | Female | spayed | 16 years old | 16 lbs
My 16 year old Beagle has a cough caused by dry cilia. Ive noticed recently that she gets these coughing spells more often. Is there anything I can do/give her, that would lessen the cough, in addition to running a humidifier?

A dry throat can be helped by running a humidifier and an air purifier with a HEPA filter to help remove particulates that are found in all homes. An omega 3 fatty acid supplement for pets can also help to better condition the throat. Feed a high quality dog food like Royal Canin or Nutro as well since they are aimed at skin health. Also, make sure a veterinarian agrees that her cough is caused by a dry throat because at her age, other health concerns become more worrisome. I hope this helps.
