Is it urgent I take my dog to the vet? I love my dog; some people say that too much. But I am an 85 widow struggling financially, that's why I'm hesitant to take her to the vet. She looks lethargic walks slowly and can't climb on the couch as she usually does. She is eating, pooping and peeing normally , but most of the time now she lays on the carpet and seems like she is moaning. Is there anything I can do before taking her to the vet?

Hello. I can not tell you what to do because I have no idea what is potentially wrong with Mitzy. What I can tell you is the longer you do wait to take her in, the more uncomfortable she might get, & the more expensive it might be to have her treated. Early intervention is generally a lot less expensive than waiting to the last minute & now you have a potential emergency. What I generally tell people is to use there best instinct as to if & when a pet needs to be seen. You know her best, so let your heart guide you. I do hope all is well with Mitzy & thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
