Hi Bella was dingosed with Legg calf Perthes disease at six months old. The vet I visted recommended surgery. I decided not to do it. What is the best way to help her without surgery. The other question is I know u think she has allergies when I asked if she had allergies long time ago . I think it’s skin allergies how to treat it . I even have given her joint health chewables is that ok to give her if I want to give her allergies chewables?

Legg Calve Perthes syndrome refers to death of the ball of the hip joint resulting in an unstable and painful joint which will develop arthritis due to the damage to the bone and abnormal movement. This will be a lifelong condition and is likely to require ongoing pain medication and mobility diets or supplements and surgery may be the only option if her ongoing pain cannot be managed. There are many possible triggers for allergies - if it is food related then flavoured chewables may aggravate her symptoms; if however the allergy is environmental such as dust mites or pollen then supplements are not likely to affect the allergy signs.
