My cat's sick: loose stool, visible eyelids. Is human dewormer safe?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Persian | Female | unspayed | 7.7 lbs

Hello, Recently i have been noticing some health issues in my cat. Both her third eyelids are visible She is showing inactive nature lately. She's probably tired and sleeping more than usual. Her stool is also loose. Another thing I am worried about is given her a medicine to get rid of intestinal worms that the vet has prescribed. However, that is a medicine for human so is it safe to give that medicine to my cat?

Deworming is a good idea. Usually when the third eyelids are elevated it is due to a GI issue. I have no idea what medication the vet gave you but most of the medications we use in animals are human medications so if they prescribed it I would assume it is OK to give. If you would like to post again with the name of the medication we may be able to help you better.
