My gerbil fell, can't eat. How to feed a gerbil with injured front paws?

Pet's info: Small Animal | Gerbil | Female | 1 year and 3 months old

My gerbil Skye fell from about 6 feet. Her front paws are limping and I don’t know how to feed her since she can’t grab her food. Can you help? She can chew and drink water but she is only kind of using one of her paws. She got a little better since it happened but can’t eat. My main question is how to feed her since she can’t grab the food herself?

Thanks for reaching out about Skye. The main answer is she needs to be seen by a veterinarian, because if the leg if fractured, it is painful and will not heal unless stabilized. Offering food by hand is the only way to feed if she is not eating on her own. Even if not fractures, pain medications could help. Good luck.
