Cat neuter incision infected? Licking and weird poop normal?

I got my cat neutered 2 days ago and this is what the incision looks like is it ok? or is it infected? Plus he’s over grooming his body and licking his penis and the incision but he’s active and like before and he’s eating but his poop like separated small balls even though I’m feeding him wet food. This is my first time having a cat I’m worried

I am a bit concerned about the incision, it could be infected. I'd have Cake seen by a vet to get it looked at. Until you get him into a vet, put an Ecollar on him to keep him from licking the area. You can get one at a pet store or make one at home.

The diarrhea could have been caused from the anesthesia or the stress of just being at the vet's office. If the diarrhea continues, let your vet know so they don't get dehydrated. The redness of the scrotum is not normal. Make sure you are keeping them confined and not letting the run, jump, or play. I would put them in a large crate with a litter box if you have to. Also, I would strongly encourage you to put a cone collar on the one that is licking the incision. If he continues to lick it, it will not heal. The bacteria from his mouth could cause it to quickly get infected and cause it to be very irritated. If the redness doesn't improve or if you start seeing some discharge, I would have your vet recheck the incision. There is a good chance he may need some antibiotics. I hope this helps!

It is not quite normal, however it is possible that he was licking the incision and aggravated it. If he keeps licking, it will not heal like it should and he may even lick bacteria into the wound. You may want to put an e-collar on him so he cannot reach the wound. It should then heal without problem.

I got my cat neutered 10 days ago I SWEAR I checked his incision everyday an hour ago i took off his ecollar and he was playing too much so i grabbed him and started checking... Im so shocked I can’t even breathe properly what should i do please help
It's ok! There is some swelling but I don't see any sign of infection, bleeding, or break down of the incision. Put the Ecollar back on Cake, rest him as much as possible. and have him seen by a vet in the morning.

My cat managed to take off his cone when I was not looking and licked himself this his 6th day from getting neutered. No vets are open today till tomorrow. Is he going to be okay till tomorrow when I can take him to the vet? I need help please answer
Oh Chandler, what a naughty kitty. They are so good at removing their cone! It looks like there is a little prolapsed tissue there likely from where he opened the incision. As long as he keeps his cone on overnight it will likely be okay to see you vet tomorrow. They can then make sure he doesn't need a suture and/or antibiotics. The incisions do not appear to be infected in the images supplied. Confirm all three cats have e-collars (cones) in place to prevent licking. The cones should stay on for at least 10-14 days post op. Monitor for lethargy, loss of appetite, odor, excessive bruising, active bleeding or discharge.

My cat got neutered about a week ago and i think he has an infection. i noticed some oozing earlier and I believe there is a foul order coming from him
Thank you for submitting your question. I would recommend that he sees his veterinarian to check his incision site. It is difficult to say without seeing a picture, but based on your description an infection is certainly possible. In addition to discharge, an infected incision site will be red, swollen and painful or hot to the touch. In the meantime, be sure to prevent him from the licking the area. I hope this information helps!

My 3 month old kitten just got neutered , I tried using the cone/collar but he manages to take it off each and every time resulting in licking his stitches what can I do? Also I replaced his usual clay litter to paper pellets and he doesnt even go #1
I would get a soft paper collar at PetCo that you can tighten so he can’t remove it. If it’s been a day or two then go back to his normal litter. I don’t want to break his litter box training, and he could develop a urinary problem if he’s not going regularly. If the incisions are closed then the litter won’t be an issue. My cat was spayed yesterday and wont stop licking her incision. It looks open just a little and a little bit wet like it could be infected. Should i take her back to the vet???
Hello, thank you for using Boop by Petco. The incision does not look infected now, but if she does not leave it alone, she could open things up. She will probably need to wear a protective cone for a couple of days to allow healing. For tonight, if you have an infant T shirt, or a stretched out tube sock, you can make a little body jacket for her. She may not be too happy with this, but it will definitely take her mind off her incision. Have your vet take a look at the incision tomorrow. He may also have a product you can put around the incision with a yucky taste to stop the licking. Good luck & take care.

Dog neutered but other dog licked scab off
Poor pup! That area is very inflamed and may be infected. Keep the dogs separated and make sure your dog wears his elizabethan collar at all times. Get him seen by his veterinarian within the next 24 hours as he may need antibiotics. Make sure to keep him from any activity as well such as running or jumping. My dog was neutered 4 days ago and I noticed that his incision looks infected, also he hasn’t had a bowel movement since the surgery. He seems to be bothered alot and constant whining. What should I do??
It does look like the incision may be infected. I would have this checked out as soon as possible with a veterinarian. If Charlie has been seen licking it, even once, he should wear an e-collar to prevent spreading bacteria and to avoid a problem with healing. Constipation after surgery can be caused by some types of pain medications, or may be from pain caused during the squatting process. This is also something to discuss with your vet. If Charlie is not on pain medications, then he may need to start them. If he is on pain medications, they may need to be changed or discontinued.
