My cat licked Savalon liquid and is lethargic. Will he be okay?

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male

Hello, Urgent... My cat pourd Savalon liquid on himself and have also licked some of it. It has been 24 hours when I noticed as I was not in home and during that time duration the liquid was on him all the time. The cat is appearing to be a bit lethargic. I have no vet nearby. Please advise. Dr. Strydom advised to wash him off and at present nothing can be done as 24+ hrs have passed. Please advise will he survive or not, I am very worried and have no vets nearby.

Hello. If Mew is not having any digestive problems at this time, including no vomiting, diarrhea & he still has an appetite, he should be just fine. Washing him as soon as you discovered what happened was the best thing to do. Now, it is just a matter of making sure he continues to eat & drink. The ingredients can cause some irritation if swallowed, so offering things like broth & milk to drink plus warmed canned cat food is appropriate. He should survive & should start feeling better in a day or so. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
