Pet's info: Dog | Husky | Male | unneutered | 2 months and 13 days old | 8 lbs
My dog has been having what looks like bloody diarrhea he has thrown up once, but still the same him has been drinking water an he ate an still very playful still. My husband last night did decide to give him vanilla ice cream with out talking to me we’ve only had him maybe 3 weeks, I called the vet they won’t be able to get me in till next week an i live out in the middle of no where with only 1 vet. I’m trying to get one in the Town over what can I do to help till then

Hi, and thanks for your question. As a first approach in this case, I would suggest to withhold food for the next 8-12 hours and then start feeding with a bland diet based on boiled chicken and rice in small portion every 6 hours for the following 48hours. Then gradually reintroduce the normal diet over 5 days. I would definitively recommend a veterinary check up if the signs persist or you notice diarrhoea, more vomiting, lethargy or inappetence.
