My cat showed pregnancy signs, now in heat. Is she still pregnant?

I brought my Bengal cat to a breeder and she showed Al pregnancy signs at first. She's in her 4th week now. Last week however she entered her heat again (I read that this is still possible for a pregnant cat, just that it doesn't happen often)and now she's very energetic and running around happily. I don't know if this means that she had miscarried. I haven't seen blood or dead kittens and she's not sad or depressed, so really idk. Could she still he pregnant but energetic? I have no clue..

Have her physically examined y a veterinarian. An abdominal ultrasound should be able to confirm a pregnancy. At this stage, if she is pregnant, her nipples should be enlarged and darker and she should be putting on weight. It is possible for her to still be active.

Any cat in heat that has been around an intact male has the change of becoming pregnant. Signs may include changes in behavior, no longer going into heat (since cats are induced ovulators), weight gain, etc. If you suspect Sasha is pregnant, confirmation from your vet is best.

Purry should be 42 days pregnant now. Sometimes it is possible that a cat does come into heat during pregnancy. If you want to know whether she is still pregnant, take her to your vet for an x ray or an utrasound. Kittens should be visible now and the vet can also count them, so you know how many to expect. The gestation period is 63 days, so it is still relatively early. I would expect to see signs of pregnancy no earlier than 4 weeks, and certainly I wouldn't attempt a pregnancy scan until at least 4 weeks as it is too difficult to distinguish kittens at earlier stages. So if she has not come into heat again she could certainly be pregnant, I would be patient for another week or two and if there is still no signs or she hasn't come back to heat take her into a vet for an ultrasound scan then you will know for sure. It is possible but relatively rare that she is in a false pregnancy.

If you don’t know if your cat has mated pregnancy can be detected on physical examination after the first half of pregnancy and sometimes earlier on with an ultrasound. The signs you are describing certainly could be consistent with pregnancy, but Mia could also be suffering from a false pregnancy. You may see swollen, pink nipples, some "morning sickness", increased appetite, weight gain and a distended abdomen. Without a physical exam though, a determination of pregnancy cannot be made definitively. Ideally, she should be examined by a veterinarian. An abdominal x-ray or ultrasound can confirm pregnancy.

It can be difficult to know if they've been spayed or not if you don't have any medical records. You can request that the vet shave her belly to look for a spay scar, but they can be very faint if she was spayed at a very young age. If she still has signs of heat, then either she hasn't been spayed or there is some ovarian tissue still present inside her. You can have a hormone test (AMH) done to confirm that there still is ovarian tissue and then you know she needs surgery to remove it. Or the vet can just go to surgery to go look for it.

Pregnant cats do not go into heat. I would recommend having her re-evaluated by the vet to make sure she is pregnant and that she isn't having a false pregnancy or a pyometra (a potentially life-threatening infection of the uterus). Rough play shouldn't affect unborn kittens. They are well-protected in there!

Hello, if Lacey got out and is no longer going into heat, it is very likely that she may be pregnant. Normal pregnancy in cats is about 65 days, give or take a few. In the later stages of pregnancy you will see her abdomen become enlarged and she may develop enlarged mammary glands as well. These signs would be highly consistent with being pregnant. Alternatively since it has been 2 months, she should be able to undergo an x-ray to see if there are any kittens that she could be carrying.
