My poodle has pancreatitis. Why is his vomiting recovery inconsistent?

Pet's info: Dog | Poodle | Male | neutered | 1 year and 4 months old | 35 lbs

my poodle is vomiting one week? vet test pancreatitis. and given medications regularly (IV fluid , pain killers. reduce vomiting). today was third day in hospital. he is active one day and lazy next day. vomit one day and don't vomit one day. whats your suggestions?

He should stay in the hospital as long as possible on IV fluids/medications. Sometimes it takes a week or longer before they start getting better. Was an abdominal ultrasound done? That would be a good idea. He should be held off food until he is better. At the hospital the vet can feed him nutritionally through the IV catheter with something called TPN. He should be given food orally. This would be my suggestions. Pancreatitis cannot really be treated at home.

    I would recommend taking him in. With pancreatitis, the sooner and more aggressively it's treated, the better the outcome can be. Pancreatitis is a serious disease and I really hope Liam gets feeling better soon!
