Is yellow discharge normal after my cat's eye removal surgery?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Shorthair | Male | neutered | 1 year and 2 months old | 7.5 lbs

My cat is about 4 weeks post Enucleation. He is one year old. He has had about three yellowish/brown boogers that he has snorted out on the same side as his Enucleation. He had some ear drainage as well when I adopted him which I was told was typical post surgery. Are the boogers actually discharge post surgery? He is eating, drinking, and using the litter box. Still playful as ever.

IT is not uncommon fr some nasal discharge or blood - the tear ducts naturally drain down through the back of the nose/throat. If he is otherwise well I would continue to monitor - a vet check is recommended if the discharge is persistent, thick/coloured or any weight loss or fever develops
