My hampster recently passed away and i am wondering how these are the symptoms he had 1 eay closed Eay that was closed was also swolen Loss of balance He was always a calm hampster so i carnt tell if he was ill by his behavier He was bullied by hampsters when he was younger they may have scenced he had an illness Also he did have an ifected gland on his stomach we did cheat it but it didnt do much though he was also and old hampster he was about 1 year old i just hope he was not in pain thanks. I'm sorry for your loss. Unfortunately, without a necropsy (animal autopsy) it would be hard to say what caused Star to pass. If there was swelling and discharge from the ear, or from a gland on the body, the infection could have become septic and caused the passing, or there may have been an underlying illness or medical condition that caused it as well. It sounds like you were caring owners, so Star had a good life and lots of love while he lived.
