My dog is limping and licking its paw, but doesn't seem to be in pain?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 5 years and 6 months old | 72 lbs

My black lab favoring her front right paw. No evidence of a cut. She lets me massage it and feels the same as her other leg. Just licks it alot and limps. Does not seem to be in pain.

Any dog that is limping is in pain; that is why she is limping, the foot hurts to put weight on it. You will need to take Brandy to a vet for an exam. The problem could be anything from a sticker in her foot to arthritis to a strain/sprain of ligament or tendon. It may not be the paw, it could be anywhere on her leg that is the issue.
