What is this lump on my dog? Should I be worried before the vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Rottweiler | Female | spayed | 1 year and 3 months old | 41 lbs

Hi My dog has a lump as you will see in the photo's. Can you please advise me on what it could be and why this lump could have appeared. I'm taking her to the vet tomorrow but I'm so worried that I can not wait until then. Can you please assist. Thank you Jennifer

Hi Jennifer! This could just be a benign lump. I can't say that for certain without seeing Abbey in person, but it doesn't look really serious in the picture. Having her seen by a vet tomorrow is fine. I hope this helps!

Large hard lump all red no pus or bleeding..about 2 inch lump
Unfortunately in a senior dog like Libby, there is always a chance this lump could be a malignant tumor. It could also be a benign tumor, but the only way to know for sure is to have her seen by a vet. Any suspicious lumps should be examined by the vet. It's usually painless to the animal, and relatively quick to perform. I would take Libby into the vet tomorrow to have this lump examined and diagnosed so it can be treated as needed.

I recently found a lump on one of my dogs breasts. I don’t know if I should take her to the vet or not, I researched online and I think it might be a memmary tumor .
Hi there and thank you for using Boop by Petco to address our concern. Judging from the photos, it appears that the mass is associated with the mammary gland. Some dogs can have a larger amount of fat and glandular tissue that is normal and nothing to be concerned about. However, this could be a primary mammary mass that needs further testing. As long as she is otherwise acting ok, it is not growing rapidly, and/or has a discharge then you could wait and take her this weekend. Your vet can do a needle aspirate to help determine the cause and determine if the lump needs to be removed or treated.

Thank you for the photo of the lump on the side of Lily's vulva, I can see it clearly in the photo. From the photo, it doesn't appear to be ulcerated, bleeding, or look otherwise "nasty" on the outside. That doesn't necessarily rule out it being a malignant lump, but this appearance is better than it being what I described above, if that makes sense. While there is a chance it could be malignant, given her age, there is also a possibility that it could simply be a benign growth, a good possibility given its appearance. Again, I can't say that for certain, but benign growths and malignant growths tend to have certain characteristics, and appearance can be one of those characteristics (but not always!). Sorry that I can't be more specific, but unfortunately I cannot be specific without seeing her in person. I do think it's good that you are having her seen by a vet for this, especially since it has grown in size a little, and waiting another 10 days does not seem like a big deal in

Can I attach a picture of a lump on my dog?
I would have Duke examined by your vet so they can figure out what the mass is made up of. Unfortunately we can't tell if it's serious or not without taking a small sample or biopsy of the mass. Good luck!
