My dog vomited, won't eat, lethargic, rapid breathing. No vet nearby!

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years and 5 months old | 25 lbs

My 24lb mini schnauzer/fox terrier vomited a large amount last night... hasnt really ate today...since I came at 3pm... i have seen him drink water once...hasnt pottied since i have been home. I have no emegency vet open near me. Normally he his super energetic but not today. His breathing goes from normal to rapid and back to normal

Thank you for contacting Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach with your question about Max. Poor boy. He does sound pretty sick, you can try a home remedy. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) and white rice in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. If there isn't an ER clinic in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website. I hope this helps!
