My cat is drooling but only eating dry food. What could be wrong?

My cat is drooling but is still eating and drinking but only dry food not wet food I gave checked teeth and all is ok still eating treats but it's strange behaviour

Shadow sounds nauseous. Feed him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If the drooling continues on the bland diet, he refuses to eat the bland diet, he vomits the bland diet, develops diarrhea, stops drinking water, starts vomiting water, or becomes very lethargic, he will need to see a vet right away. The drooling may be due to nausea, periodontal disease, trauma or toxicity. If he is behaving normally otherwise, it is probably not trauma or toxicity. You can try withholding food for 12-24 hours. Allow small amounts of water or unflavored PediaLyte. Resume feeding a bland diet in small, frequent amounts. Begin with 1 teaspoon of food every hour and gradually increase the amount if there is no vomiting. Feed bland until symptoms resolve then transition slowly to the regular diet. Symptoms that should be addressed by your veterinarian include lethargy, persistent vomiting or diarrhea, loss of appetite or abdominal pain.

My cat is dry heaving and drooling after throwing up hard food. He runs away from me like he did something bad. Drove to vet hospital and they said 6-7 hours. He acted fine we came home and he had a little food and started dry heaving again and drool

The drooling can be a sign of nausea in cats, but given that Rex hasn't had a change in activity, appetite, or anything else, I would keep an eye on him for now. It could be chewing on those plants has upset his stomach, and I would keep them out of reach. Try feeding him a bland diet of boiled white meat chicken (no bones) in small amounts several times a day for a couple of days. Then slowly add back in his normal diet. If he's still drooling in another 24 hours after being on this diet or anything else changes from the normal, then I would have him seen by a vet.

My dog started excessively drooling today. He's eating and drinking and going to the bathroom ok, but so much drool. I've checked his mouth and don't see anything obvious. What could cause this suddenly?

Hi, When returning home from work tonight, we found that one of our cats was drolling excessively. I have tried to look in his mouth but found nothing in there or his throat. His teeth etc also seem really healthy. What could be wrong with him?
Poor guy. He sounds very nauseous. There is a possi There isn't anything over the counter that will work for nausea in cats unfortunately, but you can fast him for the next 12 hrs to see if his stomach settles. Then offer him a small amount of tuna or boiled chicken and rice at his next few feedings. Hopefully he keeps everything down over the next 12-24 hrs. If he did hae a transient stomach bug then things should pass by then. If not, then its best to have him examined by your local vet for further testing and medical treatment. I hope that your pet Noodles feels better soon.

He may have an infected tooth or abscess or a growth in the mouth causing the pain and drooling. There is nothing at home you can give safely. Your vet can look in his mouth and check for an infection or a growth and give you an estimate if cost if treatment before doing anything else. At his age your vet can discuss if sedation is an option or pulse antibiotics therapy is more beneficial

My cat seems to be salivating a lot but does seem to still have an appetite. As far as I can tell he has not gotton into anything. He had a little poop om his butt stuck to fur. What could this be?
Salivating is a sign of either ulcers, or bad teeth, excessive tartar, abscesses, or an injury in the mouth or an irritant. I suggest you take your kitty to a veterinarian tomorrow morning for an exam. He also may have a nasty calicivirus infection. If he lets you, you can try and have a thorough look in his mouth, but it is more likely that his mouth is painful. Make sure he eats and drinks, preferably give him some canned food as it may be less painful to eat.

Last night I saw drool by my cat? Also, his eyes were pinkish/squinty, not discharge yet, but he rubbed at them. Everything else was normal - eat, drink, pee, poop, play, sleep. Today he was laying down (sleeping?), and it was wet where his head was
The drool is likely due to something hurting his mouth rather than anything to due with his food. Cats can get sore mouths from chewing on things that they shouldn't (i.e. electrical cords), dental disease, certain infections, or other oral diseases. I do not see evidence of eye problems, but if there is, then I would be more suspicious of an infection causing this. Otherwise, I would need to look in his mouth to help narrow-down the cause of this. You can try to look in his mouth and see if anything looks abnormal. If you do notice something abnormal, then it's best to have your vet see him sometime soon, so they can advise on the necessary treatment. There is definitely no need to change the food at this time and it's best to continue feeding his normal diet to prevent any gastrointestinal disturbances. It's hard to say what could be causing this. Possible reasons include oral pain, something stuck in the mouth or throat, periodontal disease, oral mass, viral infection, among other things. You can try liquid foods, baby food, or even putting canned cat food in a blender to make a liquid.
