My spayed kitten is licking her incision. Is she safe alone in her utility room?

Hi my 5 month old kitten got spayed today I was just wondering and forgot to ask the vet before we left will she be OK to stay in the utility room On her own like she does every night? She is licking her would a lot we try to stop her but she continues to do it. Thank you

Hello, and thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach. If Maisy is licking at her incision then she needs to wear an E-collar (cone) to keep her away from the incision. She should be in a safe enclosed space to minimize jumping and excessive activity until her incision heals.
