That sounds quite confusing. I wonder if it could be behavior rather than medical. Start journaling what is going around in Doc's environment when these episodes start. Depending on the frequency, he may benefit from anti-anxiety medications or another treatment. You could also seek out an evaluation with a veterinary behaviorist. You may also want to talk to your vet about cognitive dysfunction. https://www.petcoach.co/article/4-signs-of-cognitive-dysfunction-in-dogs/

It could be Moe is suffering from canine cognitive dysfunction, which can cause a sudden change in behavior. I'd have him checked out by a vet, as there may be diet changes and medication that can help you. Take him into a vet today. Best of luck.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Hersh. He may have a condition known as canine cognitive dysfunction. This is somewhat similar to Alzheimer's disease in people. The dog can exhibit anxiety at night, pace, vocalize, get stuck in small rooms or corners. Some will seem to forget their house training and have accidents in the home. If these other symptoms sound familiar, it would be worth having him evaluated by his veterinarian. There are medications, supplements or diets that can be recommended. I hope this information helps!
