Pet's info: Cat | Domestic Longhair | Female | spayed | 2 years and 10 months old | 12 lbs
I noticed when trimming all my cats' nails, that Emmy was making more of a fuss than usual. (She's antisocial with people, so I'm lucky if I can pet her daily) When I finally got to her front right paw, I saw that 2 or 3 of her nails were missing & there was a little dried blood between her toes. Other than letting me know it hurts, she isn't acting differently. Washed with wet washcloth, but she fought me. What could've happened? Would a tussle with a sibling do that? Thanks

She probably got the nails stuck on a blanket or something and they got ripped. I doubt a tussle with the other cat would do that but I guess it's possible. If it is not bothering her it is best to just leave it alone for now. Monitor her for any worsening by looking at it once a day and keep her nails trimmed to prevent this from happening again! Great question!
