My cockatiel ate garlic. What are the dangers and what should I do?

Hi I have a basket on top of my refrigerator where I keep my garlic and my 6 month old cockatiel often goes there and eats some of the garlic and I didn't know that garlic was harmful for him nows he's having problem flying and he's losing tail feathers what should I do

Thanks for reaching out about Kuyu. Garlic contains products that can lead to the destruction of red blood cells, anemia and thereby weakness. A visit to the veterinarian is recommended to assess and provide a diagnostic/treatment plan. If the anemia is severe enough, a transfusion might be needed. If mild, treatments can be used to stimulate new red blood protection. Good luck.
