My dog is shaking, hiding, and yelping when touched. Is he in pain?

My dog Finley has been acting weird ever since he woke up this morning. He hasn’t been himself, shaking & hiding. I’ve tried petting him and he yelps and then starts shaking really bad. I’m thinking maybe it’s his paw or maybe something in or around his head? Because I would pet him and he would cry or even move and he’ll yelp. He’ll hold one leg up and shake. I’ve only tried holding or petting him 3 times. He is a 3 year old pomchi

It sounds like Finley is in pain. Rest him tonight. No running, jumping, or playing. Take him out to toilet on a leash, and bring him right back in when he's done. If he still appears painful in the morning, then I would take him into the vet for an exam. The vet can diagnose where the pain is coming from, and can dictate a treatment plan for it. He may also benefit from some pain medications, which the vet can prescribe. Please do not give him any human pain medications, as many are toxic to dogs and can be fatal if given.
