I see that Rocky isn't neutered. In dogs who aren't neutered, prostate problems are a very likely cause of bleeding from the penis. These problems include benign prostatic hyperplasia, prostatitis, and prostate cancer. The bleeding could also be caused by leptospirosis, bladder tumors, trauma, a UTI, or bladder stones. I would take him into your vet today for an exam. Your vet can do a rectal exam to see if his prostate is enlarged, and can do x-rays, routine blood tests, and a urinalysis to see if he has a UTI or bladder stones. If he does have a problem with his prostate, neutering him is one of the recommended treatments.

My dog is dripping blood from his penis area, he does not seem to be feeling ill, and he is not licking it. He did have some loose stools this week.
I see that your dog is not neutered - I'm not sure how old he is, but in middle-aged or older unneutered males it is common to see blood dripping from the penis as a symptom of an [enlarged prostate](https://www.petcoach.co/dog/condition/prostate-enlargement/). That is normally the first thing that I would check out in a dog with this problem. Other possible causes include an injury or tumor on the penis or the penile sheath, a bladder or prostate infection, bladder stones, kidney disease, or even a systemic bleeding disorder. I would recommend taking him to a vet for an exam - they will probably want to collect a urine sample for testing, check his prostate during a rectal exam, and examine his penis closely outside the sheath to look for any problems. From there, x-rays and ultrasound can be used to look at the prostate, if needed. My dog is bleeding after urinating he is not neutered, 8 yrs old, not excessive licking in the area, it is thick and clotty, its not constant only after toileting, solids are coming out as normal,
Because he is not neutered it is very likely to be due to a prostate disease (infection or cancer), i would recommend taking him to your vet ASAP in order to get it checked, he will probably need to be neutered the soonest possible.

a week or so ago i noticed some lumps that come and go along the sides of a stray dogs penis. now he is bleeding from his penis and is obviously in pain. what can this be ?
These lumps along side his penis are likely the bulbourethral glands, which are a normal part of a dog's anatomy. They will appear when the dog is aroused. Bleeding from the penis is not normal, however, and Blacky has to see a vet right away, especially if he is in pain. My granddog bleeds from his penis every time he comes to visit. He is not been neutered. Is it because we have a female dog ( neutered) living here? He has gone through testing and is healthy . Vet recommended he be neutered. Just wonder why it is on
You dog is probably suffering from a prostate disease (cancer or inflammation), it's very common in unneutered dogs. i recommend taking him to the vet ASAP, if it is not an advanced cancer then neutering him will solve the problem.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Rocky. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. Blood in the urine or coming from the prepuce is always concerning in an older male dog. The veterinarian will examine him and likely collect a sterile urine sample, x-rays of his abdomen as well as blood work. These results will either give a diagnosis or guide further testing. For example, the blood could be due to a prostate infection, bladder stones, a mass in the bladder or even a bleeding disorder. A simple bladder infection is actually quite rare in a male dog. It is good that he is still happy and acting normal, but I do encourage you to have him seen. I hope this information helps!

Oh no, poor Chucky! I see that he isn't neutered, and a common cause if bleeding from the penis in intact dogs is prostate problems. These prostate problems include prostatitis, benign prostatic hyperplasia, and prostate cancer. Other causes include injury to the penis, blood clotting disorders, UTI, and bladder stones. I would have Chucky seen by a vet today for this problem so it can be diagnosed and treated. If he does have a prostate disease, neutering him is part of the recommended treatment.
