Pet's info: Dog | Pug | Male | neutered | 7 months and 9 days old | 14 lbs
Hi, I have a 14 lb pug who is 7 1/2 months old and about four days ago I noticed a roundworm in his stool. ive started him on panacur at 1/2 cc a day, but I don’t know for how long I should give him a higher dose than my normal rate of deworming medication. Any suggestions based on the life span of eggs hatching?

You are under dosing Pumpkin if you are giving only 0.5 ml (cc) per day. Legally, we cannot provide dosing without a physical exam and a VPCR (veterinarian-patient-client relationship). Contact your veterinarian for an appropriate dose for a 14lb (6.3kg) dog. Panacur is typically given for 3 days, then repeated in two weeks. You can then consider a monthly preventative, such as HeartGard, Interceptor or Sentinel, that will protect against intestinal parasites and heartworm.
