My dog's groin is red and swollen. What can I give him or should I see a vet?

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Male | unneutered | 10 years and 2 months old

Hi i have a pitbull. The right side of his groin area is red and looks swollen. Should I take him in to get checked? Is there anything I could give him?

Thos could be a tumor or severe infection. Place an e-collar (cone) on him to prevent licking or chewing and have him seen by your veterinarian. Of he is painful or restless, consider a visit to the nearest veterinary ER. The veterinarian may perform a fine needle aspirate to collect samples for pathology if it is a mass. At the very least, medication can be given to calm Dopey or relieve pain if indicated. There is nothing OTC that can safely be given. Many OTC medications can be toxic to dogs or are easily overdosed.
