Unvaccinated puppy has diarrhea, vomiting, lethargy. Is it parvo?

Hello, I am from India My puppy is having diarrhea, vomiting , has become very lethargic. I found on the internet that this might be the symptoms of PARVO. None of the three vaccines were received by him. And also there isn't any vet nearby I need your advice Please help Thank you

Parvovirus treatment consists of aggressive supportive care to control the symptoms and boost your dog’s immune system to help him win the battle against this dangerous disease. Dogs infected with parvovirus need intensive treatment in a veterinary hospital, where they receive antibiotics, drugs to control the vomiting, intravenous fluids, and other supportive therapies. I would take him into the closest vet now.

He needs medications which include antibiotics (injectable Cefazolin or Ampicillin is needed since he isn't eating), anti-nausea medication (i.e Cerenia or Metoclopramide), and nutritional support (Nutri-cal, available over the counter perhaps at your local pet store). As long as he is getting fluid therapy, he is getting much needed electrolytes which is greatly beneficial towards his improvement because dehydration is the number one cause of death in these pets. Eva sounds very ill and she needs veterinary attention now. She likely isn't fully vaccinated yet, and these symptoms could be due to parvovirus. Parvo is too often fatal, and it has no cure. The best chance for survival is intensive supportive treatment at the vet. Her symptoms could also be caused by a severe GI illness, eating something rotten or toxic, or a foreign body. Please take her into an ER vet clinic; if there isn't one in your area, there will be a vet on call for emergencies. The information to reach that vet is found on a clinic's answering machine or website.

I think my puppy has parvo and I know getting her into a vet asap is the best thing I'm giving her pedalite about every hour and zofran with it but not every time. I don't know her wiegh cause she is only 7-8 weeks old. I'm scared and trying my best
Thanks for using Boop by Petco! Parvovirus is a severe gastroenteritis that affect puppies more often. This is a viral infection so there is no direct treatment for the virus so the treatment per se is directed at treating secondary bacterial infections and mostly helping with the clinical symptoms of vomiting, diarrhea and inappetence. This warrants ideally hospitalization with some cases being able to be managed with outpatient care depending on its severity. I recommend that you follow up with a veterinarian who can institute therapy for Allie as soon as possible. The quicker this condition gets treated the better the outcome tends to be. Good luck! My dog hasn’t eaten or drank in 2 days, almost three and vomited yellow bile twice. He also has runny , like water, type stool and hes also extremely lethargic. Could this be the early signs of Parvo?
Hello, This unfortunately does sound very much like Parvovirus. As he hasn't eaten or drank in two days, he is probably extremely dehydrated and lacking nutrition. I would recommend taking him into a vet as soon as possible to get a parvo test done. Parvovirus affects the white blood cells in the bone marrow as well, so blood work can help know how affected he is by the virus. Most parvo treatments require at least a week of fluid therapy, nutritional therapy, IV antibiotics and anti-nausea medications. It unfortunately has about a 50% survival rate, even with treatment. Another thing that can cause vomiting, diarrhea, and lethargy, especially in younger dogs, would be foreign body obstructions (ie. eating a toy that got lodged in his intestines and needs surgical removal). This can be checked for with x-rays to see if there is any obstruction in the intestines. I hope this is helpful. Thanks for using Boop by Petco.

My dog threw up his food yesterday. He hasn't had all of his shots yet and has been around other pets/outside. Is this the reason he threw up maybe?
Yes, it is entirely possible he could have contacted parvovirus if he isn't fully vaccinated, and has been around other dogs of unknown vaccine status. I recommend taking him into the vet now. Parvovirus is life threatening, and it has no cure. The best chance of survival is intensive supportive care in the vet's clinic. The vet can do a snap test to determine if he does have parvo, and can treat from there. It's best to rule it out in case he does have it, so he can get treatment right away.
