My newborn puppy's docked tail skin is exposed. What should I do?

Pet's info: Dog | Miniature Schnauzer | Female | unspayed | 3 days old

My newborn puppies tail was docked a few days again it was healing fine. Then waking up this morning I saw the skin had slid back from the tail and exposing the part under the skin. What can I do to help her?

The part may be getting infected. A check up, appropriate disinfection and possibly antibiotics (oral, topical or in a shampoo formulation) are needed to solve the problem. Disinfection may be started at home with very diluted hibiscrub or betadine or salted water baths.
