Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Hello! I just noticed this small white bump on my pugs eye, can you help diagnose it? My vet is closed atm as it is the middle of the night where I am.

Lesions like this can be a few things including a skin tumor, an ingrown hair, an infection or a blocked pore. You may monitor this lesion for the next week. Protect the area from scratching or rubbing with an elizabethan collar if needed and you may apply a warm (not hot) compress twice a day for 5 minutes. Check the lesion every day. If the lesion does not start improving within a week or if it is getting worse, have him examined by the veterinarian. I hope this helps and please feel free to post any additional questions.

Poor Levon. This could be exactly that. If it has a white head, it may just be a pustule or small local infection. This could just be because of a skin infection, allergies, or even a ant/bug bite. If he is bothered by it or multiple pustules come up or if this one doesn’t go away, then I would have your vet look at it. Since it is so close to the eye, I wouldn’t medicate it as I am afraid some might get into the eye. Keep watching it closely. Any changes or if it isn’t going away I would take him in. I hope this helps!
