Thank you for submitting your question regarding Shadow. I recommend that he sees a veterinarian. I worry that he has an infection on his chin. Some cats are prone to acne which may be the case. However, his chin appears more inflamed than many of these cases. I hope this information helps!

Many cats can suffer from chin acne. It can become irritated and infected if left untreated. Place an e-collar (cone) on Yuki to prevent rubbing, pawing or scratching. Have him examined by your veterinarian to diagnose infection (bacterial or fungal) and to rule out external parasites. Treatment may be topical (ointment, shampoo, etc) and/or systemic (antibiotics, antihistamines, etc).

Cats can definitely get chin acne. It commonly looks like some bumps and scabs just under the chin. I would make sure she is drinking and eating out of stainless steel bowls. You also want to clean these daily. This will help prevent bacteria build up that is commonly seen in plastic bowls. If the bumps are large and have ulcerations or pus coming from them, I would have your vet take a look at them. She may need some antibiotics to help get it under control. Once the infection is under control, you can use stridex pads daily to help prevent it from getting worse again. I hope this helps!
