Will spaying help my kitten's crazy night zoomies and loud meowing?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 6 months and 29 days old

Hey! My 7-month old female kitten gets these energybombs always at night/early morning and runs around like crazy and even jumps onto the wall. Also she starts meowing very loudly and also staring at the ceiling all the time. I’m getting her sterilised next week, will that help? Because it’s really tiring.

Hello. If Pipi is in heat, & it sounds like she might be, spaying her will really help. But she is young & she will have occasional episodes of the zooms for some time to come. This is just part of being a kitten. She will eventually mature & settle down, but getting her fixed next week will help quite a bit. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
