Why is my male dog leaking urine with no infection after treatment?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Vizsla | Male | neutered | 6 years and 2 months old | 70 lbs

I have a 6 year old male Vizsla. 3 weeks ago he was leaking urine and licking himself. The vet did urinalysis and it showed infection. He also had blood work done and everything looked fine. After being on antibiotics the leaking stopped and he seemed to be better. Now 3 weeks later he stated leaking urine again. Usually if he jumps up or gets up fast it will leak. I took a sample of urine to vet today and they said it looks fine and there’s no bacteria. What would cause leaking? Thank you!

Urinary incontinence is the main option, although not very common in male dogs. i would recommend asking your vet to send a fresh urine analysis to an external lab to make sure there is no infection before starting treating urine incontinence.
