Is it normal for my 11-week-old Goldendoodle puppy to sleep a lot?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Goldendoodle | Female | unspayed | 2 months and 21 days old | 20 lbs

I got my 11 week old Goldendoodle 3 days ago and she sleeps for most of the day. She only likes to walk for short periods of time. She does like to play fetch with me, but I just want to make sure she isn’t sleeping too much. I’m taking her to the vet in a few days for her new puppy exam. I’ve been feeding her 1 1/2 cups a day of Victor High Pro Plus and she loves it. She did have diarrhea for the first day and a half but her stools have been mostly solid since.

Hello. What a sweety Dixie is. Puppies do sleep quite a bit, so as long as she has a good appetite & there is no vomiting or diarrhea, then she will be fine to wait for your appointment where she will receive a good exam to make sure she is perfectly healthy. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.
