My dog's paw has a fleshy lump and she keeps licking her broken nail.

Pet's info: Dog | Mixed Breed Large (61lb +) | Female | spayed | 80 lbs

Her front right thumb claw has a fleshy protrusion and the claw seems to be empty and she is licking it all the time

Hello. It looks like she may have broken that nail and the hard “shell” of the nail is lifted off of the quick which is the pink fleshy part. This can be painful which is why she is probably licking it. It is best to have your veterinarian trim this back and maybe bandage the foot. If it is trimmed back, the nail will regrow .
