Dog's eye problem, vet closed. Can I use Polysporin pink eye drops?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cockapoo | Female | spayed | 2 years and 5 months old | 21 lbs

She woke up to her eye looking like this. The vet is closed today. We do have polysporin pink eye drops that I've heard you can use.

Cedar is exposing her third eyelid. This can have several different causes, including head or neck trauma, something stuck under one of the lids, corneal ulcer or abrasion, infection, among others. If the medication was prescribed for Cedar and DOES NOT contain a steroid, it should be safe. Steroids could interfere with healing in some cases and should not be used until after evaluation by a vet.
