My puppy pees often, small amounts. Is it a training or health issue?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Dog | Cane Corso | Male | unneutered | 1 month and 20 days old | 54 lbs

We are giving our puppy 120 ml puppy milk plus 30 gms of royal canin maxi starter dry food 4 times a day. We have kept fresh water in his house as well. We are facing problem in his peeing routine. First of all, he is not sniffing before peeing. Secondly, at one time he is peeing small amount but in 2 to 3 times at different locations. Please advice if he needs any training or vet visit.

AT Dante's age, you shoudl start decreasing the amount of puppy milk and increasing the amount of food. He should be fully weaned by 8 weeks of age so milk is no longer needed. I do recommend to have his urine checked for any infection. Puppies do urinate frequently but they typically just go in one large pee puddle. Not several smaller puddles. This link about house training may help and I also recommend crate training: https://www.petcoach.co/article/housetraining/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/how-to-crate-train-your-puppy-or-older-dog/ https://www.petcoach.co/article/how-to-choose-a-wire-kennel-or-plastic-crate-for-your-dog/ I hope this helps.
