My cat vomited after gabapentin. Hairball or should I give Laxatone?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Female | spayed | 1 year and 10 months old | 9.5 lbs

My kitty had a .4 ml dose of liquid gabaentin yesterday to make a vet visit easier on all. She was sleepy for a few hours and then was playful/normal last night. She did have a loose stool later in the evening afterwards, but today I fed her her normal canned wet food and an hour later we were playing (she ran and jumped). After jumping on the bed she threw up some food. Is this from the gaba or possibly hairball? Wondering if I should give laxatone or not. She seems fine otherwise so far

The gabapentin is out of her system by now so I don't think the vomiting is from the drug. It could be from stress or a hairball. You can go ahead and give her the Laxatone. If she continues to vomit then call your vet.
