Hi my 10 yr, 11 pounds, chi mix recvd distemper parvo DhLP (?) and Rabies on Thurs. Fri pm he had a fever. I gave a baby Aspirin around6 pm and a 1/2 benedryl and put an ice bag around paws and belly. Went outside to try to cool him. At 2:30 am seemed same. Gave 1 more baby aspirin. He still has fever. We are leaving for a road trip today, which he was going to come with us. I’m not sure what to do how long can a reaction last and can I give another aspirin? Our vet is out of town

Hi there and thank you for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach to address your concern. If he is still running a fever after all of this, I would get him seen by an emergency veterinarian to be safe. He may need something stronger such as a steroid to help with a potential reaction. There may be something else going on such as an infection as well. I would get him seen as soon as possible. I hope this helps!
