My cat is restless, pacing, shaking. Should I take her to the vet?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | European Shorthair | Female | spayed | 4 years and 10 months old

My usually quite calm, keeps to herself cat is now pacing everywhere, head bobbing, smelling everything, shaking, and can't sit still. She's been doing this for the last hour that I've noticed.

It sounds like Mary may be in distress. Since she can't talk and tell you what is going on, I recommend to have her examined by the veterinarian today. she could be painful somewhere in her body including something like painful anal glands or a bladder infection. I hope this helps.
