My cat's on steroids for 8 months. How do I safely stop them?

Pet's info: Cat | American Shorthair | Female | spayed | 4 lbs

My 4 pound kitty who has been on prednisolone for about 8 months now. She had serious skin infection mid last year and strange skin scabs that happened few weeks before the infection. Vet thought a food allergy for the scabs before the infection?Insid ears base of tail between shoulders and on back. given prednisolone for her symptoms but the vet takes too long to get back to me and I want know if I can wean her off the steriods safely and how. Shes on .1 mg everyday. Any help ??

Pets can be weaned off steroids but it will need to be very slow since she has been on the steroids for so long. I don't recommend to begin weaning Lady Purr until you speak with your veterinarian about the protocol they want for Lady. You may ask if email is an option. It might be faster for you to talk with the vet. I hope this helps.
