Pet's info: Cat | Manx | Male | neutered | 7 years and 10 months old | 14 lbs
My cat has a mass on his neck and my veterinarian performed a fine needle aspiration as he suspected it was either another abscess (would have been his third one in a span of 6 months) or possibly a tumor. Cytology results came back as "reactive lymph node; mild plasma cell hyperplasia with mild mixed inflammation and recent hemorrhage". My veterinarian also stated his protein levels were slightly elevated. He has been prescribed clindamycin for 2 weeks.

Thank you for submitting your question regarding Syrup. I agree with your veterinarian's treatment plan. If Syrup is responding to treatment, then the course of antibiotics may be extended. I would recommend rechecking his protein levels after his treatment is completed as well. If he does not respond to treatment, then mass removal may be considered. I hope this information helps!
