My cat meows loudly at the mirror. How do I stop this behavior?

Updated On September 23rd, 2025

Pet's info: Cat | Mixed Breed | Male | neutered | 3 years and 1 month old | 12 lbs

Hi! My cat is a very friendly house cat. He has this habbit that he cries out really loud infront of the mirror for no apparent reason. He is healthy and eats and sleeps well. But many times just starts moewing so loud without any reason. I can't get him to stop. I give him tons of attention, snacks, he has his sister cat with him so he's not alone. And still I just can't get him to stop. It's constant. Please help. Thanks

He is adorable! This sounds like a behavioral issue. . I know you said you give him a lot of attention and play time but you may need to do some "environmental enrichment" as well (see links below). And if Feliway is available in your country you should definitely get some diffusers for your house. It sounds like he may be stressed. I suggest you do some environmental enrichment for him and get some Feliway diffusers for the house.
