Hello. If you are concerned about parvo, blood may not appear in the diarrhea for another day or so. If he continues to have vomiting & diarrhea, Justice will become dehydrated & this will make him very, very weak. If he is not feeling better tomorrow, you really should consider having him evaluated in case he does need treatment to get well. Thanks for using Petco Pet Education Center, formerly Petcoach.

Hello Puppies with vomiting, diarrhea and decreased appetite could have parvovirus, GI parasites, toxins or even a disease such as Giardia which could be passed to you. So it is best to consult your veterinarian and have them to an exam on your puppy.

Hi there! Sorry to hear that Violet is not feeling well. The clinical signs you describe are concerning when they occur in a puppy as they can be seen with serious gastrointestinal infections such as Parvovirus. Other possibilities include intestinal worms and dietary indiscretion, among other possibilities. The sooner these conditions are treated the better the outcome tends to be. For this reason, I recommend that you have Violet evaluated by your veterinarian to check for these possibilities and to start therapy based on findings. At the very least they can address dehydration if present and start her on anti-diarrhea medications. Good luck! Keeping my fingers crossed for your girl!

Hi, With puppies we need to be more careful and monitor closely because the risk of infections such parvo and the tendency to dehydration puts them in higher risk than older animals. As long as the puppy is happy and playful and the vomiting stops then you can start her on small meals of bland diet ( boiled chicken breast and rice). Also keep plenty of fresh water accessible and maybe use some of the chicken water to encourage her to drink. If the diarrhea persist after a day of the bland diet and monitoring and no signs of improvement in the watery stool then go to a vet. But if during the next 24 hours of bland diet and monitoring the puppy shows any changes such as reduced activity and lethargy or continues vomiting or blood present in the stool go to the vet immediately.
